A dance workshop series offering instruction in traditional Uzbek, Tajik, Uyghur, Afghan, and Persian dance with master instructors, plus lectures on Central Asian history, culture, and cuisine.
Since 1995, the Central Asian Dance Camp has provided opportunities for adults and older teens to study traditional Central Asian dance styles. Participants attend workshops in regional dance genres, learn about history and cultural context, and enjoy special events such as virtual concerts, museum tours, and cuisine demonstrations. The camp is run by Silk Road Dance Company and has been held at various Washington, DC locations including the Embassy of Uzbekistan.
