A free summer day camp in Hackensack for youth ages 7-18, offering dance, theater, art, and music in an inclusive environment designed to build community and creativity among campers of all experience levels.
Center for Modern Dance Education runs three free summer day camps in 2026: a Teen Camp (ages 13-18) from July 13-24 combining dance, theater, and visual arts; a Girls' Camp (ages 7-12) from July 27 to August 7; and a Boys' Camp (ages 7-12) from August 10-21. All camps run 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and include daily dance classes, art projects, music, and guest artists in a creative, nurturing environment. The camps are inclusive of people with disabilities and welcome families regardless of dance experience. Campers bring their own lunch except for the final Friday when lunch and a party are provided. A Kids' Story Slam Performance is held on August 20. Registration is required and spots are limited.
