A week-long day camp on Long Island Sound where children in grades 1-9 sail, swim, and explore marine science through themed weekly sessions like Pirates, Olympics, and Carnival, with certified instructors and a focus on hands-on discovery and teamwork.
Camp SoundWaters offers one-week sessions throughout the summer for children entering grades 1 through 9, divided into age groups: Sea Stars (Grade 1), Terrapins (Grade 2), Bluefish (Grades 3-4), Stingrays (Grades 5-6), Sharks (Grades 7-9), and Counselors in Training (ages 14-15). Each week features a unique theme that shapes the sailing, swimming, and science activities. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at Cove Island Park on the shores of Holly Pond and Long Island Sound. Extended hours and financial aid are available. The staff includes certified sailing instructors, lifeguards, and American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certified counselors, with a 1:6 camper-to-counselor ratio for younger groups.
