Camp O

Camp O is a therapeutic day camp developed by faculty at the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School, a day school with over a century of experience serving students with mental health challenges and autism spectrum disorder. The two-week session runs August 2–13, 2027, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Campers are young people ages 7–14 who are bright and social but may struggle with flexibility, social problem-solving, or forming friendships. Many have diagnoses including autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, ADHD, learning disorders, or OCD, though formal diagnosis is not required. The camp thoughtfully embeds social and emotional learning into all activities, helping campers experience joy, discover new interests, build confidence, and make friends in a supportive community. The Camp O leadership team brings combined experience of 30 years at the O-School and is trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
