A 4-week summer day camp for grades 3-5 (ages 8-12) where campers learn about 18th-century life and the Revolutionary War through hands-on activities, historical character visits, and games. Two rotating weekly themes explore the Battle of Brandywine and colonial crafts, with sessions running Tuesday through Friday mornings.
Brandywine Battlefield Summer Camp offers two alternating weekly themes. 'Brave the Battle Week' invites campers to experience the Revolutionary War and Battle of Brandywine through activities like marching as Continental soldiers, strategizing to protect homes, and playing capture-the-flag games. 'Step Into the Past Week' focuses on colonial living and crafts, with campers learning blacksmithing, historical painting, papermaking, and other colonial trades while exploring how these skills relate to modern careers. Camp runs Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Parents are invited on Fridays to observe demonstrations and learn from their children. Campers receive a folder to take home their completed work.
