A five-week summer day camp in Media, PA for rising grades 1-6 that combines reading and writing instruction with executive function skills development and extensive recreation. The program is designed for bright children with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning differences, featuring small classes, individualized teacher support, and activities including swimming, art, robotics, sports, and a confidence ropes course.
Benchmark Camp offers a transformative summer experience that merges learning and play. Campers participate in a five-week program that includes the school's internationally recognized language arts curriculum alongside executive function skills instruction. The camp structure allows children to work with peers of similar skills and ages, encouraging them to take academic risks. Morning sessions include 1 hour and 45 minutes of reading, writing, and executive function skills instruction followed by 1 hour and 45 minutes of recreation. Afternoon activities feature swimming, art, crafts, robotics and Innovation Lab sessions, sports and games, and a 35-event confidence course with a 40-foot high, 250-foot long zipline. The program teaches explicit strategies for decoding, comprehension, writing, and learning, while helping children understand their individual learning styles. Full-day, half-day, and language arts-only options are available, with after-camp care available until 6 p.m.
