See if kids you know are going to this camp.
A week-long summer day camp in Brooklyn for teens and tweens ages 10–18 who want to spend full days making art across multiple mediums. Students explore painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, textile arts, video, photography and more in a studio workshop environment, working at their own pace on personal projects.
AWE Summer runs seven consecutive week-long sessions from late June through mid-August, with classes from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Students ages 10–18 can attend one session or multiple sessions to develop more complex projects. The camp offers instruction and guidance in painting (acrylic, oil, watercolor), drawing, sculpture (ceramics, clay, wire, plaster), printmaking, aerosol art, textile arts (sewing, embroidery, knitting, weaving), collage, mosaics, book-making, video (animation, claymation, stop motion), and photography. Students work independently at their own pace while teaching artists guide them through their creative process. Lunch is from 12:00–1:00 pm with snacks provided at 10:30 am and 2:00 pm; students bring their own lunch or purchase it nearby. Art materials are included in the tuition.
