A ten-week summer day camp at PS 9 in Manhattan offering musical theater and instrumental music instruction, with outdoor activities in Central Park. Children ages 6–12 can choose between a musical theater track with weekly productions or an instrumental music immersion program.
Arts and Athletics runs two tracks for summer camp. The Musical Theater track has students create and perform a new show each Friday, learning songs, choreography, and character development throughout the week under the direction of Jeff Edmond. The Instrumental Music track, called Summer Time Jam, offers instruction in trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, piano, violin, guitar, and percussion, with daily group lessons, music notation workshops, and music appreciation sessions. Both tracks include lunch in Central Park and outdoor adventures. Camp runs from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with flexible registration options from a single week to all ten weeks.
