Ancona Summer is a progressive, student-centered day camp in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood offering nine themed weekly sessions from June through August for children ages 3 through rising 5th grade, with swimming lessons, field trips, and community-based activities included.
Ancona Summer operates from late June through mid-August with weekly themed sessions including Camp Olympics, Time Travelers, Music & Movement, Super Spies, Around the World, Performance & Drama, Game Show Week, Super Sports, and Camp Memories. The program serves three age groups: Early Childhood (3-year-olds through rising kindergarteners) with full-day and half-day options, Primary campers (rising 1st through 5th grade) in full-day sessions, and a Counselor-in-Training program for rising 6th-8th graders. All sessions include themed activities, swimming lessons, beach days, field trips, and community experiences. Meals and snacks provided daily through Chi-Fresh Kitchen partnership, with gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly options available. Families can register for individual weeks or the entire nine-week series.
