A multi-week day camp in New York for children ages kindergarten through seventh grade, featuring weekly swimming, farm stays, pottery, art projects, and hands-on learning activities with a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio. Also runs: Alto Autumn Sleepaway Camp.
Alto Summer School is in its fifth year of operation with the goal of being the most fun summer school in New York. The program runs in four periods from late June through early September, offering themed weeks in history and tradition, inquiry learning, science and handicrafts, and nature and exploration. Children participate in weekly swimming, farm stays where they can collect eggs, pottery using a wheel, large collaborative art projects, and mixed-age class activities. The school maintains a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio and offers early morning care, extended care, and optional boxed lunch ordering. Capacity is 36 children across three mixed-age classes.
