A summer and fall day camp for children ages 6-12 combining STEM activities with sports instruction and swimming each day. Weekly themes range from dinosaurs and space exploration to robotics and ocean science, with lunch provided by campers and snacks included.
Ahwatukee Community Center runs a S.T.E.M & Sports Camp with seven summer weeks (June through July) and one fall week in October. Each day combines STEM sessions, sport instruction, swimming, and games from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Weekly themes include Forces of Nature, Dinosaurs, Galaxy Exploration with the ASU Starlab planetarium, iRobot and coding, Deep Sea exploration, Destination Imagination with drama and art, and Space Week. The camp is designed for children ages 6-12. Campers bring their own lunch; snacks, juice and drinks are available for purchase, with an afternoon snack and drink provided daily. Lifeguards supervise swim time. Registration requires preregistration; cancellations made one week or more before camp start receive a full refund, while later cancellations incur a $50 fee.
