A summer program for youth, especially those who have immigrated from Africa, designed to build school readiness, cultural pride, and self-confidence through traditional games, study skills, life skills, and community building activities.
Each summer, the African Community Center of Lowell offers a youth program that combines academic preparation with cultural enrichment. The program includes traditional games to improve logical thinking and cultural literacy, study skills workshops to prepare students for school success, visits to local African-owned businesses for inspiration and career awareness, life skills training to help students thrive in the Greater Lowell environment, and community-building activities that foster mutual support among immigrant youth.
