The North Andover Historical Society runs summer enrichment programs for families combining history, science, and hands-on activities. Sessions include a five-day course on human history and energy innovation, a three-day textile manufacturing exploration, and single-session archaeology and poetry workshops for children ages 7 and up.
Adventures in Time offers multiple summer sessions blending history with science and engineering. The five-day 'Illumination & Energy' course traces human history from fire discovery to solar panels, with experiments in thermodynamics, ceramic oil lamp making, candle making, water and steam engineering, electricity, and solar-powered car construction. The three-day 'Sheep to Sweater' course explores textile manufacturing through hands-on activities including carding, spinning, dyeing, and weaving, connecting to North Andover's textile heritage. A single-session 'Archaeology and Poetry' workshop teaches archaeological methods using local poet Anne Bradstreet as a case study, featuring a walking tour and writing activities with ink quills. All sessions meet 1:30–3:30 pm and include immersive theater lectures.
