A day camp in Manhattan where children create multiple hands-on art projects daily in museum galleries and parks, exploring famous artists and techniques with a 2:1 student-teacher ratio. Also runs: 2 Hour Art Adventures Camp.
Claire's Creative Adventures runs 3-hour art camps for ages 3.5 and up, meeting Monday through Friday at venues including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and Central Park. Each day features three inspirational art projects using diverse materials including drawing, painting, clay, wood, plaster, metal, and wire. Children explore multicultural and contemporary artists, learn techniques through hands-on exploration, and participate in group projects like murals and easel painting. Lunch is integrated into the learning experience with discussions of artists' stories and art concepts. The camp includes French and Spanish language elements, with instructors teaching numbers, colors and phrases. Small class groups welcome.
